Locinode is a cybersecurity training platform built around one principle: hands-on learning should happen where permission and scope are clear.

The platform combines intentionally vulnerable training targets, temporary player environments, guided learning options, XP and progression, leaderboards, community features, and a public Learning Center.

Why Locinode exists

Cybersecurity can be difficult to learn from reading alone. Concepts such as authorization, service exposure, permissions, sessions, logs, and network flows become easier to understand when a learner can observe them on a real system. Practicing on systems without permission, however, is inappropriate and may be illegal.

Locinode closes that gap by providing systems that exist specifically for training. The platform assigns the target, states the objective, and makes the boundary explicit.

Learning plus practice

Public articles explain theory and defensive reasoning. Challenge sessions provide the authorized environment where a learner can observe the concept. Some challenges include a disposable Kali workstation and staged challenge artifacts.

Who it is for

Locinode is designed for students, IT professionals, developers, hobbyists, and security practitioners who want structured practice. Beginner material builds useful mental models while harder challenges can combine several skills.

Free access

The goal is to keep the core learning and challenge experience available without a required subscription. Advertising or other funding may help cover infrastructure costs, but advertising should not replace the educational purpose of the site or interfere with active lab work.

Responsible use

Locinode authorization applies only to targets explicitly assigned by the platform. It does not grant permission to test third-party services, public infrastructure, other users, or systems outside an active lab.
